Adopt an Iguana
Common Name: Black Iguana
Scientific Name: Ctenosaura pectinata
Female: Nejapera
Nejapota was given to us by a family who had been planning on eating her. A girl who had visited Divertigranja learned that these animals are endangered species and convinced her father to donate the iguana to us rather than kill and eat it. We are hoping to establish an iguana hatchery whereby the offspring are released. She eats chopped-up fruit and tree leaves.
