Adopt a Fox

Common Name: Grey Fox

Scientific Name: Urocyon cineroargenteus

Male: Gustavo

Gustavo came to us from a woman who could no longer care for him. She had rescued him as a pup, injured on the side of the road. He is missing half of his front left paw and limps a little. We often let him run around the zoo grounds, keeping an eye on his whereabouts, especially when he nears the chicken run.

He cannot be released as he has always lived among humans and constantly seeks human companionship. He would quickly be killed when found in someone’s yard, especially if caught stealing chickens! He eats cat chow, cooked meat, and occasionally one of our chickens.

He needs to be routinely vaccinated for rabies and occasionally anti-parasite medicine.

Daily cost: 20 Pesos
